About Dr. Rex Urich

Rex Urich is a dedicated veterinarian devoted to improving the quality of life for dogs and cats. In his earlier years, he ran a 5-doctor practice and oversaw the operations of the veterinary clinic and the care for many small animals, especially dogs and cats.

Rex Urich, DVM is a crusader for animals.
He is a dedicated veterinarian who started the TNR program (Trap-Neuter-Return) along Foster City CA’s Bay Trail with Cimeron Morrissey, who went on to win Animal Planet’s Cat Hero of the Year 2007 award. read the article here

Dr. Urich has also traveled to Belize to provide Free Rabies Vaccination Clinics. This year, rabies vaccinations were given to 160 animals and 29 animals were spayed or neutered. read the article here

"Dr. Rex", as many of his clients call him, decided to scale down and refocus on what truly mattered: one-on-one care of dogs and cats. He sold his large practice and moved to Central Oregon, settling in Bend, Oregon, and started his mobile veterinary practice, Home Comfort Veterinary Services.

Dr. Rex is a beloved and respected veterinarian with many of his four-legged patients in Bend and Redmond. He is known for his gentle care of animals as well as his calm and professional demeanor during a family's most stressful times when a pet is ill.

Dr. Rex Urich loves the chance to improve the quality of life for our pets and helping clients with decisions about their companions' health.

Dr. Urich is a member of the Oregon Dept of Agriculture and Deschutes County Animal Disaster Team.
